Artist Biography

Michelle Dick is a beloved local artist who has been crafting original, hand-etched artwork on Kauai for over 20 years. She is well-known for capturing the Hawaiian spirit in her impressive array of island images.

Her artistic process is equally unique and captivating. Each art piece starts out as white clayboard, which is then covered with a veil of black ink. Michelle then uses a fine-point tool to "scratch out" each and every detail, employing a skilled exacting discipline. An avid shell collector, Michelle finishes each art piece by securing a seashell on the back to act as a hook for wall adornment. An added essence of aloha.
